A funeral for Juanita Brooke Hynes, 66, of Copperas Cove, will take place Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at Grace Christian Center in Killeen with Pastors Terry Whitley and Steve Timmerman officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

She died Sept. 21 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Juanita Brooke Jerread was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Ridgley, Md. to Brooks Jerread and Juanita K. Kinnard. She married Michael J. Hynes, Sr. on Oct. 1, 1959, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. A retired telephone operator for Cen-Tel and a homemaker, Hynes was a member of Grace Christian Center in Killeen.

She was preceded in death by her father; and a stepfather, Arthur B. Evans.

Survivors include husband, Michael J. Hynes, Sr. of Copperas Cove; a daughter, Dawn Hynes-Williamson of Nederland; sons, Dean Arthur Hynes and his wife, Christy, and Michael J. Hynes, Jr., all of Copperas Cove; sisters, Alaine Raven and her husband, Sheldon, of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Michelle Vella of Houston; brothers, Bruce Evans of Wilmington, N.C., Larry Jerread and his wife, Janet, of Millsboro, Del., William Jerread and his wife, Karen, of Seaford, Del., Charles Jerread and his wife, Jean, of Whaleyville, Md., and Gary Jerread, also of Whaleyville, Md.; mother, Juanita K. Evans of Wilmington, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jessica Nevils and her husband, Danny, Tiffany Oats and Brittany Cummings; and three great-grandchildren, Rylee Nevils, Camryn Nevils and Octavia Oats.

Sheppard Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
